[Symbol] Linx Definition/Example/Significance/Picture

SYMBOL
My definition of symbolism in a poem is the main idea or topic the poet or writer is trying to pass on to the reader through the poem. The poet or writer tends to use obects or subjects (people) to symbolize a meaning weather or not that meaning is at all a person, place, or objects.

Example:
The healthy tree
Swayed in the wind
And lived many years with the glass half full
But, eventually it came to its death
Now, in the afterlife, its on a marble gravestone
Now, it symbolizes the life of the person below it
The tree lived such a blissful life
As did the person-
The symbol represents the life of a fulfilled, peaceful life
Significance: Symbolism is important to poems because it helps the poet or writer pass an idea across to the reader in the form of these examples. Like the poem above the dying tree represtents the ending life of a person, which is also why the poem says it is now on a marble gravestone.

take this picture for example, a person could say:
this rose blooms large as it shares hands
with me and you together it bands

for us and the(THEE)
for it came from a tree

my love for you for how it grew
will never end without us being two

The symbol being the rose and how it bloomed symbolizes how the charaters love for his partner grew more and more into what it is today. It also symbolizes that the male's love for his partner will never end.
